Radhika’s Bhutan journey was filled with peaceful monasteries, breathtaking mountains and unforgettable moments
A Scenic Entry Into Bhutan
Radhika's journey began with her arrival at Bagdogra Airport. From there, a private sedan took her towards Phuentsholing, Bhutan's gateway town.
The drive itself was an introduction to the landscapes that would define much of her trip, passing through the lush plains of North Bengal, tea gardens, rivers and countryside before reaching the Indo-Bhutan border.
After completing the necessary formalities, she settled into her hotel in Phuentsholing for the night before continuing towards Thimphu the following morning.
Discovering Thimphu and the Bhutanese Landscape

Day two took Radhika from Phuentsholing to Thimphu on a scenic private transfer. The journey included stops at Kharbandi Gompa, Gedu View Point and the Chukha Hydroelectric Project, giving her opportunities to take in Bhutan's mountain scenery along the way.
Once in Thimphu, she had time to relax and explore the capital. Her itinerary also included several recommended experiences around the city, including Clock Tower Square, Simply Bhutan, the Royal Botanical Garden and Dechen Phodrang Monastery.
The following day, she travelled to Punakha for a full-day excursion via Dochula Pass, located at an altitude of around 3,100 metres.
The excursion included visits to the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang and the Punakha Suspension Bridge. It offered a mix of Bhutan's natural beauty, spiritual heritage and architectural landmarks.
From Thimphu to the Picturesque Paro Valley
On day four, Radhika explored more of Thimphu before travelling towards Paro.
Her sightseeing included the Buddha Dordenma Statue, Memorial Chorten, Motithang Takin Preserve, National Folk Heritage Museum, Tashichho Dzong and Simply Bhutan.
She then continued to Paro, where she checked into her hotel for the night.
The change from the capital's urban surroundings to Paro's quieter valley landscapes gave her another perspective of Bhutan, with the mountains remaining a constant part of the journey.
The Tiger's Nest Experience

Day five brought one of the most anticipated experiences of the trip: the journey to Tiger's Nest Monastery.
Perched dramatically on a cliff above the Paro Valley, the monastery is one of Bhutan's most recognisable landmarks. Radhika travelled from Paro for the experience before continuing towards Phuentsholing for her final overnight stay.
The hike combined mountain scenery, pine forests and Bhutan's spiritual heritage, making it a natural highlight of a trip that had already taken her through several of the country's most important destinations.
A Journey Shaped by People and Hospitality
While the destinations were an important part of Radhika's experience, she also highlighted the people who supported her throughout the journey.
In her written review, she spoke about the warmth, hospitality, and courtesy of the local people. She also specifically praised her driver, Mr. Dev, for making the steep mountain roads feel safe and comfortable.
"Mr. Dev's exceptional skill and care behind the wheel made navigating the steep mountain roads feel entirely safe, effortless and deeply enjoyable."
Her guide, Mr. Rinchen, also received special appreciation for the care he provided during the trip.
Radhika wrote that his support deserved the "highest praise" and that every moment contributed to what was ultimately a delightful journey.
A 5-Star Review Shared on a Third-Party Platform

She highlighted the arrangements for her accommodation, transportation, and on-ground support and said:
"If you are looking for some well-organized and completely hassle-free trips like this, I would definitely recommend Thrillophilia for you and Bhutan as a destination for sure."

A Solo Trip That Felt Effortless

In six days, she had travelled through some of Bhutan's most memorable destinations, from Phuentsholing and Thimphu to Punakha and Paro. She explored historic monasteries and cultural landmarks, travelled through dramatic Himalayan landscapes and completed the journey to Tiger's Nest.
For a solo traveller, having the major logistics organised can make a considerable difference. Radhika's itinerary included private transfers between destinations, accommodation, sightseeing and on-ground assistance, allowing her to experience Bhutan without having to coordinate every part of the journey herself.
Looking back on the trip, her feedback focused on the combination of beautiful scenery, thoughtful arrangements and dependable local support. "My solo trip to Bhutan was an unforgettable experience filled with spectacular mountain views and breathtaking scenery at every turn."
