Package Booked: Traversing Europe: A 10 Days Journey to Remember
Pankaj Wadkar and Mugdha had been talking about taking a holiday in Europe for longer than either of them could remember. The usual back and forth. Too expensive, too complicated, not the right time. Then at some point the conversation stopped being hypothetical, and Pankaj started going through Europe trip reviews properly, looking for someone who had done Amsterdam, Paris, and Switzerland together and come back feeling like it was worth the planning. He found enough travellers to make the call. Finally, he reached out to Thrillophilia, spoke to Akanksha Bhadouria, and the trip slowly took shape from there.
Akanksha created a Europe tour package spread across ten days and covering three countries. Amsterdam for two nights, Paris for three, and Zurich as the base for the Swiss stretch with a Swiss Travel Pass tying all of it together. The Schengen visa assistance was included in the package, which Akanksha tracked through before departure. By the time they landed at Amsterdam Schiphol on 26 February, everything was already in place.
Amsterdam, Canal Cruises, and Slow European Evenings

Amsterdam in late February is quieter than it is in summer, which is not a bad thing for a first evening in Europe. The private sedan transfer from Schiphol had them at their super deluxe hotel by mid-afternoon, and the Amsterdam Evening Canal Cruise at 6 PM was the right way to arrive.
Day 2 was the Anne Frank and World War II walking tour. It is not a light morning. The walking tour covers the history of the city's occupation and takes you through the neighbourhood around the Anne Frank House in a way that stays with you after it ends. Pankaj and Mugdha gave it the time it needed, and the afternoon was theirs to spend at their own pace in a city that rewards that kind of wandering.
The Paris Stretch That Covered Everything
The scenic train from Amsterdam to Paris on Day 3 was the trip's first long exhale. No transfers to arrange, no airport to navigate. The Swiss Continuous Pass handled the rail travel across the European network, and the journey gave them their first look at the landscape changing as they moved south.
Day 4 was the most active day of the Paris stretch. The Big Bus hop-on hop-off tour with a 24-hour pass and river cruise gave them the city's main landmarks at a pace they could control. The Eiffel Tower came in the afternoon with reserved access tickets for the summit by lift. Pankaj had been looking forward to the view from the top, and it delivered what he had expected. Paris from the summit stretched endlessly in every direction and somehow felt far more impressive than any photograph had prepared them for.

Day 5 was Disneyland Paris. The shuttle and admission ticket had been pre-arranged, which meant the morning started with a direct transfer from central Paris rather than figuring out the RER at 8 AM. They stayed until the park finally closed for the night.
Four Days in Switzerland, Which Changed the Trip Completely
The move from Paris to Zurich on Day 6 completely changed the pace of the trip. After the busy city days, four nights in Switzerland gave Pankaj and Mugdha the time to slow down and experience things properly. Their stay at the Intercity Hotel Zurich, with breakfast included, became the base for exploring some of Switzerland’s most scenic places.
What worked especially well was the pacing. The four days felt full but never rushed, and Switzerland added a completely different side to the journey that Paris and Amsterdam, as memorable as they were, could not have offered on their own.
Interlaken, Alpine Views, and Unforgettable Swiss Landscapes

Day 8 was spent exploring Interlaken and Grindelwald, both easily accessible with the Swiss Pass. Later in the afternoon, the group reached Grindelwald, where the massive north face of the Eiger towered over the village in a way that made the scale of the Alps feel almost unreal. Mugdha spent a long time standing on the cliff walkway at first, quietly taking in the valley views around her.
Day 9 brought a completely different side of Switzerland with visits to the Rhine Falls and the Lindt Home of Chocolate. Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe by volume, turned out to be one of those places that travellers rarely expect much from beforehand and then end up talking about the most afterwards.
How Thrillophilia Ensured the Trip's Smoothness
Akanksha Bhadouria had handled the booking from the start. Schengen visa assistance was included and tracked through the application process before the trip. The Swiss Continuous Pass, four days of second-class travel, was arranged in advance. Pre-booked tickets for the canal cruise, the Anne Frank tour, the Eiffel Tower summit, Disneyland, Mount Titlis, and the Jungfraujoch meant Pankaj and Mugdha never arrived at an activity with an unresolved booking. Hotels across Amsterdam, Paris, and Zurich were in the super deluxe category with breakfast throughout. Airport transfers on arrival and departure were both included.
Pankaj wrote his review on 17 March, ten days after he got back:
