There are holidays you plan for months and still feel like something was missing. And then there are the ones where everything just flows, where you are not spending half your energy figuring out what comes next. For Himanshu Shekhar Mohapatra and Sayali Sonawane, Mauritius in June 2026 was very much the second kind. "Our Mauritius trip was truly one to remember." Himanshu said, "Everything was well planned from start to finish, which made the entire experience feel so easy and stress-free."

He also left his review with the Smart Customer platform and said, “Huge thanks to Thrillophilia and Vansam for orchestrating a flawless six-day Mauritius getaway, where every detail felt luxurious, the local team was incredibly attentive, and the magical island-hopping tour completely stole our hearts!”

It Started With Arrival in Ambre Mauritius

They landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and were transferred by coach to Ambre Mauritius, which was going to be their home for the next five nights. Ambre is a resort on the east coast of the island, which immediately sets the vacation tone.

The first evening was theirs to relax in, find their feet, and explore the nearby beaches. June in Mauritius is the beginning of the dry winter season, which means clear skies, lower humidity, and the kind of weather that makes everything feel calming.

North Mauritius and South Mauritius

Himanshu enjoyed an exciting ATV adventure across the scenic landscapes of Mauritius

Day two was a full-day North Mauritius tour, eight hours covering the highlights of the island's northern coast. The north is where Mauritius shows off its most dramatic scenery, with Cap Malheureux and its iconic red-roofed church sitting at the very tip of the island, the smaller islands of Coin de Mire and Flat Island visible on the horizon. The markets, the Hindu temples, the sugarcane fields rolling past on the drive between stops. A well-paced day that gave them a proper feel for the island before the south tour the following day.

The south of Mauritius is closer to the nature. The Black River Gorges, the island's largest national park, with its native forest and endemic birds, is evidence of all the beauty that South Mauritius has to offer.

Chamarel, with the famous seven coloured earth formations and the Chamarel Waterfall, one of the highest on the island. The south has a rawness to it that the resort beaches do not, and spending a full day there gave the trip a depth it would not have had otherwise. Six hours of it, shared transfer, and back to Ambre in the evening with a lot to talk about over dinner.

Ile Aux Cerfs

Day four was Ile Aux Cerfs, and this was the one. "The island hopping tour was without a doubt our favourite part of the trip," Himanshu said, and Ile Aux Cerfs is exactly the kind of place that earns that title without trying too hard. A speedboat from the east coast, the island appearing ahead with its white sand beaches and turquoise lagoon, a full day to swim and snorkel and simply be somewhere extraordinarily beautiful. The lagoon at Ile Aux Cerfs is sheltered and calm, the kind of water that makes you want to stay in it for as long as possible. Six hours on and around the island, and the ride back across the water in the afternoon with the sun behind them was a very satisfying end to the trip's most memorable day.

A Day to Relax and Enjoy

Day five was a leisure day, which after four days of tours and island hopping was exactly the right call. Ambre Mauritius has enough to keep two people happily occupied without leaving the property, and a day of doing whatever felt right, whether that was the pool, the beach, the spa, or a long lunch, was the natural exhale before the last morning.

How Thrillophilia Made the Trip Better

Himanshu kept it straightforward in his review, which is often how the best ones go. "Everything was well planned from start to finish, which made the entire experience feel so easy and stress-free. The local team was always available whenever we needed anything."

That second part matters a lot in a destination like Mauritius, where the island is small but the logistics of moving between the north, south, and offshore islands across multiple days require proper coordination. Having a local team that is actually reachable when something comes up, or when a question needs answering mid-trip, is the difference between a trip that flows and one that does not.

The itinerary itself was well structured. North and south tours on consecutive days to give them the full picture of the island before the Ile Aux Cerfs speedboat day, which was saved for the middle of the trip when they were fully settled in and ready to enjoy it properly. The leisure day on day five gave them time to decompress before departure without feeling like a wasted day. Five nights at one resort meant no packing and repacking, no adjusting to new rooms, just a consistent, comfortable base to come back to every evening.

"A big thank you to Thrillophilia for making this vacation so smooth and memorable," Himanshu said.
