The first stop at Umiam Lake immediately set the mood for the journey. Surrounded by rolling hills and calm waters, it offered the perfect welcome to Meghalaya before the landscape became even more dramatic.
Soon afterwards, they travelled towards Cherrapunji, a destination celebrated for its waterfalls, caves, and breathtaking viewpoints. Along the way, Elephant Falls introduced them to one of Meghalaya's most iconic natural attractions before the day continued through some of Cherrapunji's biggest highlights.
They explored the fascinating Mawsmai Caves, admired the towering NohKaLikai Falls, witnessed the magnificent Seven Sisters Waterfall, and walked through the naturally carved passages of Arwah Cave.

The Double Decker Living Root Bridge stood as one of Meghalaya's greatest natural wonders, created by generations of Khasi communities patiently guiding the roots of ancient rubber trees into a living bridge strong enough to carry people across rivers.
Standing before it felt less like visiting a tourist attraction and more like witnessing a remarkable partnership between nature and human ingenuity.

Villages, Rivers, and Views That Looked Almost Unreal
The adventure continued as they travelled towards Dawki, with several remarkable experiences unfolding along the route.
Their first stop was Mawlynnong, widely recognised as the cleanest village in Asia. Walking through its spotless pathways offered a glimpse into a community that takes immense pride in preserving its surroundings.
Nearby, they visited the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai Village and paused beside the famous Balancing Rock, another fascinating natural formation that continues to surprise visitors.
The journey then led them towards Dawki.
Here, the Umngot River looked almost unreal. Its water appeared so incredibly clear that boats seemed to float in mid-air rather than on the river itself. Surrounded by green hills and peaceful surroundings, the river quickly became one of the most photographed moments of their holiday.
The final full day added another collection of unforgettable experiences. They admired the turquoise waters of Krang Shuri Waterfalls before travelling to Laitlum Canyon, where endless valleys stretched across the horizon beneath drifting clouds. Standing at the canyon's edge, it became easy to understand why Meghalaya continues to captivate every traveller who visits.
