"Coordinator for our 7 day long Kashmir holidays which concluded this week was Ms.Ishika Daga, who was always there for my queries & requirements. To my surprise, I was given an Innova with the very friendly jovial driver Mr. Bilal. Bilal Bhayya developed good chemistry with my family & we felt safe with him. Each day he promised us that the next day will be the most exciting & that wasn't totally true. We found almost all the places we visited to be good - but not great. Maybe, it's because we were at Srinagar at a crowded season. It all depends on individual tasted & interests. Sonmarg, our first destination out of Srinagar was full of snow & we had to ride a pony to reach the glacier. Gulmarg, is better if you want some more activities on ice & Gondola ride to reach the place is quite memorable. Pahalgam turned out to be the most beautiful, without much ice. We were accommodated at Moon valley resort on the banks of Lidder river at Pahalgam. It's somewhat costly, if we attempt book the place directly. Our final night was in a relatively good houseboat. But for the final night food problem (which isn't a minor one), we had a good trip with lots of snaps & beautiful memories. Thanks, Thrillophilia ❣️"

Lake Cruises, Snow Glaciers, and Cable Heights

The family's holiday opened in Srinagar, where they were greeted at the airport by their driver, Mr. Bilal, in a spacious Toyota Innova. After settling into their hotel, the family enjoyed a relaxed evening Shikara ride across Dal Lake, taking in the tranquil water views and mountain silhouettes before visiting the peaceful terraced grounds of Pari Mahal. On the second day, Mr. Bilal drove the family through Srinagar's famous sights, including the historical Mughal Gardens—Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi—followed by an uphill trip to the Shankaracharya Temple atop Takht-e-Suleiman Hill and an evening spent exploring local handicrafts in Lal Chowk.

On the third morning, the family embarked on a full-day excursion to Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold. Surrounded by snow-dusted peaks, the family took a pony ride up toward the Thajiwas Glacier viewpoint, taking in views of alpine meadows, conifer forests, and icy slopes. The comfortable Innova provided smooth rides along the mountain roads, bringing them back safely to Srinagar for the night.

The fourth day led them to Gulmarg, where the highlights included riding the famous Gulmarg Gondola up past Kungdoor and Mary Shoulder. Floating high above the valley floor, the family took in sweeping panoramas of snow-dusted slopes and surrounding mountain ranges, enjoying ice activities at the upper station before returning to Srinagar for the evening.

Lidder Riverbanks, Houseboat Evenings, and Farewell to Kashmir

On the fifth morning, the family journeyed southeast toward Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds. Upon arrival, they checked into the Moon Valley Resort, situated right on the scenic banks of the rushing Lidder River—a peaceful, prime stay arranged directly through their package. The family spent the day exploring the lush pine pastures of Aru Valley and the riverbanks of Chandanwari, taking in the alpine beauty of Pahalgam, which turned out to be the family's favorite destination of the trip.

Returning to Srinagar on the sixth day, the family visited the sacred Hazratbal Shrine along the shores of Dal Lake and spent time shopping for local embroidered mats, wood carvings, and souvenirs at Lal Chowk. That evening, they checked into a traditional houseboat anchored on Dal Lake for their final overnight stay, capturing photographs of the sunset across the water.

The final morning brought breakfast on the lake before Mr. Bilal provided a punctual drop-off at Srinagar International Airport.
