For Soumya and his partner, the most important part of the Thailand trip was the sea activities, and this being his first time travelling there, he wanted an anchor who could guide him throughout his trip for a smooth experience.

From Krabi's Shores to Seven Island Adventures

Unlike a lot of other trips where travellers spend a day in Phuket after landing, Soumya and his partner were transferred directly to Krabi in a private vehicle. This was deliberately recommended by the team to provide Soumya easier access to the snorkelling plans at the Seven Islands.

Their first day in Krabi was spent in leisure at a resort in Ao Nang to recover from the travel fatigue, Soumya already hyped for the next day.

The following day was dedicated to one of Krabi's signature experiences, which was a long-tail boat tour across seven islands scattered through the Andaman Sea. They hopped between limestone islets, spent time on white-sand beaches, and watched the changing colours of the sea as the afternoon turned into evening.

Soumya finally experienced snorkelling, where an instructor guided him through the process and ensured he felt comfortable enough for the dive. A traditional Thai dinner served by the beach added to the experience, but the highlight came after sunset, when the boat stopped in calm waters where bioluminescent plankton illuminated the sea with every movement. 

Swimming amidst the marine life in the sea and watching the sea illuminated with every wave, it finally hit Soumya that he had accomplished this tour for himself, while the team saw to the smooth execution of his vision, and he felt truly content.

From Limestone Cliffs to Phuket's Cultural Heart 

After the two days in Krabi reached their conclusion, Siumya and his partner made the scenic drive back to Phuket, where the atmosphere shifted from laid-back beached ro the island’s vibrant cultural side. Their private transfer ensured an easy journey, and after checking into their hotel in Parong, they set out on a guided city tour that showcased a different face of Phuket altogether.

Since all tickets were included, Soumya didn’t have to wait in any queues and went ahead smoothly with wandering through the colourful Sino-Portuguese buildings and cafes of Phuket Old Town to visiting the towering Big Buddha overlooking the island. The day balanced history, local culture, and sweeping coastal views, and Soumya welcomed the contrast to their island-hopping day in Krabi.

The Days Among Thailand's Most Iconic Islands 

The island excursions, which occupied the last two days of Soumya’s Thailand trip, became the highlight of their holiday. Their first venture took them to the world-renowned Phi Phi Islands by speedboat, something that Soumya had only seen pictures of on Thrillophilia’s website. 

The day was spent hopping between picturesque islands, relaxing on powdery beaches, and enjoying the lively atmosphere that made Phi Phi one of Thailand’s most celebrated destinations. With lunch included and the sea stretching endlessly in every direction, it felt like an entire day dedicated to the Andaman’s natural beauty.

After the day at Phi Phi Islands, Soumya was worried that the day at James Bond Island would be the same. Although he loved the island days, he didn’t want to be stuck doing the same thing over and over again for his last 2 days. But after heading towards Phang Nga Bay to explore the island by a traditional long-tail boat through the emerald-green waters, Soumya realised it was nothing like the previous day.

Towering limestone formations, which seemed to have risen straight out of the sea, loomed over him. A peaceful sea canoe ride through hidden lagoons and narrow mangrove forests that their guide pointed out with the historical significance of the place, they felt connected to the bay’s remarkable landscapes, which went beyond its visual brilliance.

Ending their trip with a peaceful day, whose pace Soumya controlled, felt like the right conclusion to the six days of Thailand. Looking at the horizon during the sunset, Soumya felt happy, and he was excited to do it all over again.
