“The trip was very nice, all the sightseeing was covered. Our driver was a very nice person and he made our journey comfortable.”
What happens when a honeymoon begins with misty mountains, quiet lakes and romantic evenings, then takes an unexpected turn into the wild?
For Sushmita Dey, a four-day escape from Delhi brought together two very different sides of Uttarakhand. Nainital promised the charm of mountain roads, lakeside moments and a few special honeymoon surprises, while Jim Corbett waited with dense forests, wildlife and the thrill of a safari.
But Sushmita had more in mind than simply ticking destinations off a list. She wanted the itinerary customised around their requirements, comfortable stays, thoughtful arrangements and enough sightseeing to make the short holiday feel complete.
Thrillophilia built the journey around those expectations, with a few memorable moments waiting along the way. There were romantic plans, beautiful mountain views, a driver who made the winding roads easier and one very elusive resident of Jim Corbett.
Here’s how their four-day Uttarakhand escape unfolded.
Nainital: A Romantic Start Among the Mountains

The journey began from Delhi, with the road gradually giving way to the green hills of Nainital. After settling into their hotel, Sushmita and her partner had time to explore the surroundings before beginning their sightseeing the following day.
Nainital brought exactly the kind of atmosphere a honeymoon needs. They visited Naina Devi Temple, explored Cave Garden, Lover’s Point and Lands End, and took in the mountain views from the higher viewpoints. A boat ride on Naini Lake added a distinctly romantic touch, followed by an evening stroll through Mall Road.
The hotel team also arranged special honeymoon decorations according to their requirements. While the candlelight dinner did not quite live up to Sushmita’s expectations, the thoughtful arrangements and cooperative staff still made the stay feel personal.
From Nainital’s Lakes to Corbett’s Wilderness
The next leg of the journey traded peaceful lake views for dense forests. After covering more of Nainital, including Bhimtal, Snow View Point, Tiffin Top and other scenic spots, the couple headed towards Jim Corbett.
Their driver played an important role throughout the journey. Sushmita described him as a very nice person who made the road trips comfortable, which mattered as the itinerary moved through winding mountain roads and into the forest region.
Their wildlife resort itself was beautiful, although the jungle setting came with a few practical challenges. Frequent power cuts and some maintenance issues at the property made the stay slightly uncomfortable, but the surroundings still offered a memorable change of scenery.
The Jungle Safari: Not Every Wild Story Has a Tiger

The final morning brought the most anticipated experience of the trip, a jeep safari through Jim Corbett National Park. Naturally, the hope was to catch sight of the park’s most famous resident, the Royal Bengal Tiger.
The tiger, however, decided to remain firmly off the guest list.
Instead, the safari offered glimpses of other wildlife and the atmosphere of the forest itself. Sushmita admitted that missing the tiger was disappointing, but the rest of the wildlife made sure the safari was not a complete miss. Sometimes the jungle decides what you get to see. The excitement lies in never knowing what might appear around the next bend.
Why Sushmita Recommends Thrillophilia for Your Uttarakhand Trip
“They had customised plans as per our requirements.”
That was one of the most important parts of Sushmita’s experience. From our end, the trip was planned around what the couple actually wanted rather than simply placing them into a fixed itinerary.
The team coordinated the sightseeing, stays and honeymoon arrangements while ensuring the couple could cover the major attractions across Nainital and Jim Corbett. The hotel staff in Nainital were also able to accommodate their special requests, adding a personal touch to the stay.
Sushmita summed up the experience simply: “We enjoyed a lot. Thanks to Thrillophilia for this tour. I would definitely recommend you to book your tour with Thrillophilia.”
For us, that is what a good holiday should achieve. Even when every detail is not perfect, the planning should make the overall journey easier, more personal and worth remembering.
