“Had a fun experience; the trip was eventful, and the place was very scenic.”
Planning an Andaman holiday is easy when all you want is a few days by the beach. Planning one that lets you experience the islands from several different angles is a completely different experience.
When Ankit Kumar and his partner set out on their eight-day Andaman holiday, their plans brought together tropical beaches, island hopping, water activities, historic sites and an adventurous excursion into the lesser-explored parts of the destination. The journey moved between Port Blair, Havelock, Neil Island, Ross Island, North Bay and Baratang, with each stop offering a completely different landscape to discover.
From ferry rides across the open sea and sunrise at Kalapathar Beach to snorkelling in clear waters, exploring old island ruins and making their way through the mangroves of Baratang, the couple experienced an Andaman that went well beyond its postcard-perfect beaches. Their local team also shared suggestions for exploring independently, giving them the flexibility to discover more along the way.
Here’s how their eight-day Andaman adventure unfolded.
Havelock Was All About Blue Water and Beach Days

The first big change of scenery came with the ferry from Port Blair to Havelock Island. The journey itself set the mood, with the blue waters stretching endlessly around them as the mainland gradually disappeared behind.
Once they arrived, Radhanagar Beach was waiting. With its soft white sand, dense greenery and wide stretch of turquoise water, it was the kind of beach that made it easy to forget about the clock. Ankit and his partner could simply walk along the shoreline, watch the changing colours of the sky and take in the tropical landscape around them.
The following day took them further into the waters around Havelock. A speedboat ride carried them towards Elephant Beach, with the sea becoming increasingly inviting as they moved away from the shore. They had the opportunity to snorkel in the clear waters and see the colourful marine life beneath the surface, while the beach itself offered the perfect setting to relax after the ride. For travellers looking for more adventure, scuba diving at Neemo Reef was also available.
Havelock brought together everything that makes an Andaman holiday special, from palm-fringed beaches and boat rides to underwater experiences and long stretches of ocean.
Sunrise at Kalapathar and the Quiet Beauty of Neil Island

The next morning began early at Kalapathar Beach. The couple headed out while the day was still beginning, arriving in time to watch the first light spread across the coastline. The golden glow over the Indian Ocean, framed by dark rocks and greenery, created one of those peaceful moments that feels completely different from the busier beach experiences of the previous days.
From there, they continued towards Neil Island, where the pace became even more relaxed. At Laxmanpur Beach, the naturally formed Coral Bridge offered a fascinating glimpse of how the island's coastline has been shaped over time. Bharatpur Beach brought another side of Neil Island, with its fine sand, clear waters and opportunities for water activities.
They also explored Sitapur Beach, walking along the coast and discovering its quieter corners, including the cave and ancient coral formations. The island felt like a place made for slowing down, wandering around and letting the scenery do most of the talking.
From Historic Islands to Mangrove Caves
Back in Port Blair, the adventure took a different direction. A boat ride across the sea brought Ankit and his partner to North Bay Island and Ross Island, combining underwater experiences with a glimpse into the history of the Andamans.
North Bay offered plenty for adventure lovers, with options such as snorkelling, glass-bottom boat rides, scuba diving and underwater sea walks. Ross Island, meanwhile, told a completely different story through the ruins of its old colonial settlement. Walking through the remains while surrounded by thick greenery created an unusual contrast between the island's peaceful present and its historical past.
Their Baratang excursion added yet another layer to the trip. The journey itself was an experience, taking them through dense mangrove landscapes towards the famous limestone caves. They could explore the mangrove creeks by boat, make their way towards the caves and continue on a jeep safari to see the mud volcanoes. It was a day that felt far removed from the classic beach holiday, revealing a wilder and more adventurous side of the Andamans.
Why Ankit Recommends His Thrillophilia Andaman Experience
For Ankit, the experience extended beyond the destinations themselves. He particularly appreciated the people who helped them understand the islands better and gave them ideas for exploring independently.
As he shared in his review, “The local staff was very pleasant and helpful. Everyone was knowledgeable and helped us with details on exploring the place ourselves outside the itinerary.”
That local guidance gave the couple the freedom to make their own discoveries while still having the support they needed throughout the journey. With beaches, islands, water activities, historic sites, mangrove forests and limestone caves packed into eight days, their Andaman holiday offered a little bit of everything.
And somewhere between the sunrise at Kalapathar, the blue waters of Havelock, the quiet shores of Neil Island and the adventurous landscapes of Baratang, Ankit and his partner found exactly what they had travelled to the islands for: a fun, scenic and wonderfully eventful escape.
