For Arun and his friends, eight days in Bali brought together a little bit of everything that makes the island such an easy destination for a group holiday. There were volcanic landscapes and rice terraces, beach afternoons, sunset temples, water sports, a full day at Waterbom Bali and an early-morning journey to Nusa Penida.

The itinerary kept changing pace throughout the trip. Some days were about exploring Bali’s landscapes, while others were built around adventure, beaches and simply having fun together.

Bali’s Green Landscapes Made the First Impression

Their first full day took them towards Kintamani, where the volcanic landscape around Mount Batur and Lake Batur opened up from the viewing points. The route then took them through a coffee plantation before heading towards Tegenungan Waterfall, surrounded by tropical greenery.

The day continued through the famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces, where the hills around Ubud are carved into layers of cultivated green. Their final stop was the Bali Jungle Swing, where the group could take in the surrounding landscape from above before enjoying a local lunch.

Nusa Penida Was Their Big Island Adventure

One of the most action-packed days began before sunrise. Arun and his friends headed to the harbour around 5:30–6:30 AM, then taking a fast boat across to Nusa Penida.

The western side of the island brought them to some of its most recognisable coastal landscapes. At Kelingking Beach, the famous T-Rex-shaped cliff rises dramatically above the sea. They continued to Angel’s Billabong and Broken Bay, before spending time at Bubu Beach. Snorkelling was also included if time permitted. After a long day around Nusa Penida, the group returned to mainland Bali and ended the day with a two-hour Balinese massage.

From a Highland Temple to a Sunset by the Ocean

Another day took the group towards Bali’s cooler northern highlands. Handara Gate provided a striking introduction to the Bedugul region, with its traditional split-gate architecture framed by mountains and greenery.

They then visited Ulun Danu Beratan, the distinctive temple complex sitting beside Lake Bratan. The day eventually shifted from highland scenery to the coast at Tanah Lot, where the temple's offshore location created a dramatic setting for sunset.

Bali Turned Up the Adventure

For Arun and his friends, one of the most energetic days came at Benoa, where the group took on water sports! Banana boat rides, adventure or couple parasailing, jet skiing and everything

The coastal adventure continued towards Uluwatu Temple, perched dramatically above the Indian Ocean. The evening included the Kecak and Fire Dance, bringing together Balinese storytelling, rhythmic chanting and fire against the backdrop of the cliffs.

Another evening along the southern coast took them to Padang Padang Beach, followed by a sunset visit to Uluwatu. The itinerary also included an Indian vegetarian candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach, giving the group a slower experience after their days of adventure.

A Day Built Entirely for Fun

Their Bali holiday also made room for a completely different kind of experience at Waterbom Bali. After transferring between hotels, the group spent the day at the water park, trading temple visits and long drives for slides, pools and water-based attractions.

The change of pace fitted naturally into the trip. After several days exploring Bali's landscapes and coastline, Waterbom gave the friends an entire day centred around recreation before their final Nusa Penida adventure.

Eight Days, Several Sides of Bali

By the end of the trip, Arun and his friends had experienced Bali across almost every kind of landscape. The volcanic highlands around Kintamani gave way to Tegallalang's rice terraces, while Bedugul brought lakeside temples and Tanah Lot opened onto the ocean. Nusa Penida added dramatic cliffs and beaches, while Benoa and Waterbom brought plenty of time on the water.

The trip also balanced busy sightseeing days with experiences such as the Balinese massage and the Jimbaran dinner. As Arun summed it up, the holiday was “good and well planned,” with the overall experience leaving the group satisfied despite a few logistical hiccups along the way.
