A Japan trip had been on Devika’s mind for a long time now. Multiple travel partner websites, reviews, and solo travelling plans occupied most of her search history. However, taking that final leap of faith with someone who she would have to entirely trust for 8 whole days in a foreign country was something she couldn’t fully commit to.

That was until she was connected to Divyansh, her destination expert at Thrillophilia. Divyansh realised the validity of her apprehension early on and proceeded with the planning accordingly. Ensuring a strong support team, end-to-end coordinated local experts, availability checks, accommodations near transfer hubs, and consistent monitoring of the trip’s flow was just the beginning.

The only intention behind all this planning was to make sure Devika gets to experience Japan exactly how she envisioned. And her Japan review on Thrillophilia’s platform after those 8 days of pure comfort highlighted exactly that.

“The trip was splendid and very well organised . loved everything of Japan . Its beautiful scenaries , the discipline and the respectable people  love to travel again”

Getting Acquainted with Tokyo

Surrounded by vibrant cherry blossoms, Devika experienced the timeless beauty of Japan in full bloom

The first 3 days of Tokyo were planned in Tokyo, as it’s the perfect place to fall in rhythm with Japan’s pace and culture as well as the best mediator city for transferring to other destinations in Japan due to its thorough connectivity and well-maintained public transport.

The first day was spent in leisure, keeping in mind the travel fatigue. Devika checked into Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo by the evening and spent the rest of the day settling into her comfortable room. Since her hotel was within walking distance from marketplaces, she went out for a stroll, glimpsing into the daily humdrum of the local people.

For the sightseeing on Day two, Devika was briefed in advance how all tickets to the city’s major attractions were pre-booked. All she had to do was show up in a private chartered car, which was a deliberate inclusion by the team to ensure her comfort throughout all transfers.

That day’s highlights were easily the Tokyo Skytree and the Tokyo Bay afternoon cruise with complimentary team time.

Witnessing the city’s skyline against a starkly lit sky due to minimal pollution and enjoying the sun’s warmth while having tea amidst the water were the kind of experiences that defined Tokyo for her. But more importantly, it didn’t tire her out or make her feel dragged.

Covering Fuji but without the Exhaustion

Day three was reserved for a Mount Fuji and Hakone tour via a personalised, private chartered car. Because of the private transfers, Devika got the freedom to set her own pace. And that’s what made the trip feel comfortable, because she wasn’t trying to put up with a speed of coverage imposed upon her but was just adhering to her own physical comfort and limitations, while the rest of the team planned around her.

Travelling through picturesque landscapes, Devika was greeted by unforgettable views of the majestic Mount Fuji, whose snow-capped peak stood as an enduring symbol of the country. The quiet lakes, rolling hills, and peaceful surroundings of Hakone only added to the beauty of Mount Fuji.

By the time Devika returned to her hotel back in Tokyo, the day had made its mark as one of the trip-defining highlights of Japan, and she knew exactly how the rest of the trip would turn out.

The Soul of Osaka

Traditional kimonos and towering bamboo created a timeless memory for Devika's family in Japan

Travelling to Osaka via Shinkansen was what finally made Devika realise what made the country’s bullet trains so famous. The comfort, efficiency, and scenic beauty made time flow by as she soon found herself settled into her hotel before long.

After freshening up, she felt refreshed enough to start on her private sightseeing tour of Osaka.

From historical landmarks to bustling streets, every stop revealed a different facet of Osaka’s unique charm, blending centuries of history with modern city life.

Kyoto and Nara’s Spiritual Energy

By now, Devika had got used to Japan’s quiet humdrum of daily life. Despite its quietness, once you actually spend time there, you could actually feel the city’s vibration yourself, and that's exactly what happened with Devika.

However, Kyoto and Nara offered an entirely new kind of silence altogether. It was eerie but rather felt sacred, like the atmosphere itself compelled you to slow down and take a deep breath here.

Dressed in Tradition, Immersed in Culture

Dressed in a traditional kimono, Devika admired the beauty of Japan's breathtaking cherry blossoms

Devika’s last day in Japan began with a kimono & yukata rental experience in Osaka by Ouka Kimono Women's Kimono/Yukata , complete with a traditional hairstyle. It entirely transformed her last day of the trip into an immersive cultural experience where every street, shrine, and photograph felt a little more authentic.

From there, it was time to step into the role of a chef at Namba, Osaka. Under expert guidance, Devika learnt the delicate technique of preparing sushi, discovering that Japan’s most celebrated cuisine is as much about patience and precision as it is about flavour.

The day gradually slowed to a close with a traditional tea ceremony. Every graceful movement, every carefully prepared cup of matcha, reflected centuries of Japanese philosophy centred on mindfulness, respect, and simplicity.

The trip’s end felt like a new beginning for her. One where she felt more rejuvenated with new-gained confidence and love for solo travelling, and she only had one team to thank for it.

How Thrillophilia Thoroughly Managed the Trip

Planning a solo trip with a senior isn’t difficult per se but requires patience and consideration throughout every trip aspect. The team put together an itinerary that was free to be flexible without limiting Devika’s experiences and followed through with private transfers, experienced chauffeurs, and a pace that felt entirely within Devika’s control.

And that’s what made the trip successful for her.
