Travelling as a family sounds simple until the trip actually begins.

Someone wants to stop for photographs. Someone else needs a break. Children have endless energy. Senior citizens prefer a slower pace. Finding a balance that keeps everyone happy can sometimes feel harder than planning the holiday itself.

That was exactly why Rashida Bandookwala appreciated her Kashmir journey so much.

Over eight days, her family travelled through Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, and Doodhpathri, experiencing some of the region's most beautiful landscapes while enjoying the comfort of knowing that the details had already been taken care of.

Looking back, that sense of care became one of the strongest memories of the trip.

As Rashida shared:

"Thrillophilia has set a memory in my heart forever by making my Kashmir trip unforgettable. Everything was beautifully planned, from the rooms to the itinerary. Since I was travelling with senior citizens and children, they took extra care of everything."

A Journey That Had Something for Everyone

One of the reasons Kashmir works so well for family holidays is the variety it offers.

During the trip, every destination seemed to bring a different experience.

Gulmarg delivered excitement. The famous Gondola ride lifted the family above forests and meadows towards sweeping views of the mountains. For the younger members of the group, the cable car ride quickly became one of the highlights of the journey. For the adults, it was the panoramic scenery stretching in every direction.

Pahalgam introduced a gentler side of Kashmir.

Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari offered open landscapes where the family could spend time together without feeling rushed. The flowing Lidder River, mountain views, and fresh air created the kind of setting that naturally slows people down and encourages them to enjoy the moment.

Sonmarg added yet another dimension to the experience.

Surrounded by glaciers and alpine scenery, it became a place for shared family memories, from pony rides and sightseeing excursions to simply admiring the beauty of the mountains together.

Then came Doodhpathri.

Compared to Kashmir's more famous destinations, Doodhpathri felt quieter and less explored. Wide meadows stretched beneath the Pir Panjal mountains, while streams cut through the landscape and wildflowers coloured the valley floor. It quickly became one of those places that travellers often discover unexpectedly and remember long after returning home.

Rather than feeling repetitive, each destination brought a different mood, ensuring that every day added something new to the journey.

The Kashmir They Experienced Between the Sightseeing

While the landscapes were spectacular, many of Rashida's favourite memories came from moments in between.

Evenings spent exploring Srinagar offered opportunities to experience Kashmir beyond its natural beauty. Walks through Mughal Gardens revealed centuries of history and craftsmanship, while visits to Lal Chowk introduced the family to local markets filled with handicrafts, traditional textiles, and the everyday rhythm of Kashmiri life.

The family also enjoyed the comfort of returning each evening to accommodations that had been carefully selected for the trip. With travellers of different age groups in the group, having comfortable rooms and smooth arrangements made a meaningful difference throughout the journey.

Equally important was the local support available along the way.

Their driver's knowledge of the region often added context to the places they visited, transforming simple drives into opportunities to learn more about Kashmir's culture, history, and traditions. Recommendations, local stories, and insights helped the family experience the destination through a more personal lens.

As Rashida noted after the trip:

"Our driver was very knowledgeable of the area, and the area representative was always helpful when required."

Those small touches contributed greatly to the overall experience.

Why Rashida Recommends Thrillophilia for Kashmir

For Rashida, the success of the trip came from much more than the destinations themselves.

It came from the confidence of knowing that every member of the family was being looked after.

From accommodations and transfers to sightseeing arrangements and on-ground assistance, the journey remained smooth from beginning to end. The support provided by Angelina Smith ensured that every detail was managed carefully, while the overall itinerary was thoughtfully curated by Priti Borah.

As a result, the family spent less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying Kashmir together.

Eight days took them through valleys, meadows, mountain towns, gardens, and local markets. Along the way, they created the kind of shared memories that family holidays are ultimately about, experiences that remain part of family conversations long after the suitcases have been unpacked.
