Daily life’s stress, the city’s constant noise, and the boredom of a daily household routine. Venkat and his family had been looking for an escape to Rajasthan for quite some time now.

But managing multiple trip logistics, figuring out a route that facilitates their journey, knowing which places to visit, and confirming minute bookings were something they were not ready to deal with. So their trip always seemed to hang on the precipice of a vague possibility.

That was until, following a friend’s recommendation, Venkat decided to call Thrillophilia and was immediately connected with Suchita, who would soon become their destination expert.

After 6 days across multiple destinations in Rajasthan, amidst numerous hotel changes and long transfers, Venkat realised how badly he and his family needed the trip and how the team managed to execute it exactly as promised.

Landing in Jaipur and the Trip’s Not-So-Humble Beginning

Ancient architecture, timeless memories

Soon after arriving in Jaipur, they found themselves settled in Hotel Indo Prime, located in proximity to nearby markets. This was an intentional detailing by the team, as he understood, to ensure both their evening strolls and emergency requirements were fulfilled whenever needed.

After a short break to relax from the journey, they stepped out for some light sightseeing to ease into Jaipur’s rhythm before their actual trip began.

Hawa Mahal was waiting for them, with its gorgeous honeycomb façade, a perfect glimpse into what each destination of Rajasthan held for them. The momentum followed with their next stop at Jantar Mantar, which left Inchara fascinated at the sheer fact that centuries-old astrological instruments still worked with the same kind of precision as modern-day devices.

Their next stop was the City Palace, a grand welcome point for every traveller starting their trip in Jaipur. With the local expert’s guidance, the family immersed themselves into the historical significance of the site other than being taken aback by the intricate detailing on every corner of the palace.

To round off their first day with a relaxing, spiritual end, Venkat found himself in front of the Govind Dev Ji Temple. A sacred site held in high esteem by every local and traveller alike.

A Deeper Cultural Experience in Jaipur

A glimpse into Rajasthan's rich heritage

The next day comprised the full Jaipur circuit, starting early with a visit to the Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and the Nahargarh Fort. Each fort carried the legacy of a Rajasthani ruler, unique in their culture and history.

Their guide explained how each palace or fort they visited stood resiliently amidst India’s historical evolution and how, till date, they still carry forward a piece of history into the future, each passing day upholding the regality of Rajasthan’s grandeur.

After this moving experience, the day seemed to pass by at a faster pace. By the evening they had already covered Jal Mahal, Man Sagar Lake, and the Birla Temple and found themselves strolling back to their hotel.

With their hearts full and minds at peace, Venkat realised he chose the right team.

The Transfer to Jodhpur, and What Followed

Jodhpur was bathed in a hue of blue, and even though the family checked into the hotel early due to the efficient transfer by their driver, they didn’t wait much before diving into the sites of the city.

Most of their day went by exploring the Mehrangarh Fort and the Taj Mahal of Marwar, Jaswant Thada, each a landmark location to witness craftsmanship that stood the test of time throughout centuries.

Their evening was rounded off with a visit to Ghanta Ghar, a vibrant and lively market famous for authentic Rajasthani artefacts and Jodhpuri handicrafts. Watching his wife and daughter’s excited eyes, Venkat knew that the spare bag they brought on the trip was going to be put to good use.

The Golden City of Rajasthan and Starry Nights

Venkataramana CS, Kalavathi CS, and Inchara V experienced the magic of Rajasthan's golden dunes

Venkat and his family’s first introduction to Rajasthan was by watching the sunlight glittering against the Jaiselmer Fort on the way to their hotel there.

Excited by what’s to follow, their day covered Jaisalmer Fort, Jain Temple, Patwa Haveli, and Nathmal Ki Haveli. After a fulfilling, authentic Rajasthani lunch, they set out to cover Salem Singh Haveli, Badal Vilas, and the War Museum.

While the family marvelled at the intricacy of the palaces and temples, the historical weight of the war museum silenced them altogether as they felt the cost of it through the military artefacts on display there.

But the highlight of their Jaisalmer stay was easily the camel and jeep safari in the sand dunes. When the night fell, they experienced a cultural performance under an open-air theatre, followed by dinner and an overnight stay directly under the starry night sky. The image of which was imprinted in the family’s minds long after the trip was over.

The Trip’s End and Thrillophilia’s Continued Support

Some local sightseeing, including Gadisar Lake, Patwon ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli, & Salim Singh ki Haveli, and a final camel ride on the same sand dunes in the Thar Desert, their trip came to an end.

Venkat later recounted the experience in his Rajasthan review on Thrillophilia’s platform, saying, '”Overall tour plan was good and well executed. Local food and hotels were good. Driver was helpful and guided well. It was a good trip.”

A ‘good’ trip is never a coincidence. It’s always a direct result of multiple teams working in tandem to execute a traveller’s experience as smoothly as possible. From the moment Venkat contacted Thrillophilia to his safe return back home, the team conducted multiple availability checks, itinerary fine-tuning, and route mapping, just to ensure a truly hassle-free trip that went beyond just some words on an itinerary.

And that is exactly what happened.
